After the release of "Stage Presence" a few weeks ago, North Carolina rhyme-vet Omniscence drops another unreleased record. "Rap vs Crack" is another gem of East Coast Boom-Bap goodness from the mid 90’s produced by Fanatic (produced for Michael Jackson , Notorius B.I.G. , Lil' Kim , Will Smith ). It was recorded in 1996 when his debut album was finished, "The Raw Factor" . Unfortunately the album was shelved back then. Now 28 years later, "The Raw Factor" is finally being released on vinyl, CD and digital stores. Featuring punchline-driven lyrics from Omniscence delivered in his unmistakable cadence, and backed by head-nodding production from Fanatic, the album is a must-own for fans of 90’s Hip Hop. The CD and digital versions will be released on May 24th . The vinyl version will be released on June 28th , a double LP edition available in purple and black colors.

Massachusetts-based rapper Abyss collaborates with Queensbridge legend Tragedy Khadafi to deliver a track of distinctive gravitas. "The Shining" , characterized by its gritty boom-bap style, merges Abyss ' razor-sharp lyrics with a self-produced barrage of hard drums and ominous instrumentation. To round off the track we also get expertly crafted cuts from veteran turntablist DJ Slipwax . Abyss asserts his lyrical prowess on this track, confidently exhibiting his unique blend of wordsmithing and production mastery.

The album title "Lungs of Mahalia" gives a nod to the legendary vocal abilities of the late gospel star Mahalia Jackson , as Double   A.B. delivers his own brand of divinely inspired rap vocals over Git Beat ’s soulful, avant-garde production. The subject matter is far from church-friendly however, as Double   A.B. traverses through the trappings of NYC street life, eventually ending the album with Justice , a scathing NSFW protest song. The guest features read like a who’s who of independent hip-hop with the likes of Eto , Homeboy Sandman , The Musalini , Prince Po , A-Plus , and  Young Zee all delivering masterful verses over Git Beats ’s mesmerizing melodies.
